Womadelaide - Very Beautiful People

The Huri Duna Dancers from Papua New Guinea. Their first time out of PNG and they certainly seemed to be enjoying themselves.

Monochrome Weekend - Adelaide

For more monochrome madness, visit Dragonstar's Weekend in Black and White.

Thanks to Dianne of Adelaide and Beyond for telling me where to find this architectural gem.

The Pilgrim Uniting Church was dedicated in 1867 as the Stow Memorial Congregationsal Church, named for he First Congregational Minister, Thomas Quinton Stow, who arrived in the Colony in 1837 and commenced the first Congregational services in South Australia. It became the Pilgrim Uniting Church in 1975 after the amalgamation of the Methodist and Congregational Churches to form the Uniting Church.

The church is an example of "Revival Gothic" architecture which is quite rare in South Australia.

Weekend Reflections - Adelaide

Rundle Mall at night.
(I think this post is appropriate for today's NSW State election, as "balls" is pretty much my reaction to both major parties.)

Garden of Unearthly Delights

Spent an evening at the Garden of Unearthly Delights, part of the Adelaide Fringe festival. Here are members of the Dutch group Niets is Echt Moeilijk (Nothing is Really Difficult) distributing very unusual flyers for their performance.

Adelaide

Just back from a week and a bit in Adelaide, South Australia. Was lovely to meet Dianne from Adelaide and Beyond while I was there. Hope the Adeladians don't mind me encroaching on their territory for a short while.
