Marching Lions

The 93rd Annual Lions Clubs International Convention took place in Sydney last week. Delegates from over 100 countries took part in the Lions Clubs International Parade which is a key element of the Convention.

I knew about the parade but was surprised at how large it was. I watched for an hour but gave up at "I". Countries marched alphabetically, except for the USA which for some reason marched by state.

Anzac Day - Not just the Allies

These days its not just the Allies who march. This is a sign carried by the Turkish contingent - the enemy all those years ago.

Corpus Christi

Walking back to the station after having lunch with a friend I wondered why all the city streets were barricaded. Several minutes later I found out - the annual Catholic Church Corpus Christi procession, apparently bigger than usual this year in the lead up to World Youth Day in July.
