Cabbage Tree Bay

From 1990, concerned residents lobbied Manly Council about Cabbage Tree Bay and in August 1994, Council agreed to establish a snorkel park, with objectives including protection of biodiversity, promotion of environmentally friendly passive recreation and encouragement of environmental education and awareness. In 2002, Cabbage Tree Bay was finally established as a “No-Take Reserve”.

Royal Far West

The Royal Far West Childrens' Health Scheme was established in 1924 by the Reverend Stanley Drummond after he realised that many children in the far west of New South Wales had never been on a holiday or seen the sea or a green landscape.

Children were brought from remote rural areas to the coastal suburb of Manly to enjoy a beachside holiday. Later, medical treatment was provided for children in poor health. Over the years the Scheme has expanded  to provide thousands of country children who have nonacute developmental, behavioural, learning, emotional and mental health disorders and limited access to local services with integrated clinical and educational care.

A while back I went to a photo meetup in Parramatta Park. One of the models from that shoot does fire twirling and asked if we would be interested in photographing him and his mates. Would we?!! A beautiful evening at Shelly Beach across from Manly, 7 boys playing with fire and 20 photographers having a wonderful time.
