Message to the world

This is an exhbition by Caritas Australia in the foyer of Sydney City Library. It is a multi-media exhibition called "Blueprint for a Better World: the millennium development goals and you" and highlights the realities and development challenges in the world today, as well as the work that Caritas Australia and its partners are doing to meet these challenges. Visitors are encouraged to write their ideas for creating a better world on slips of paper and attach them to the display stands.

That is a very interesting exhibition! All initiatives of this kind are more and more needed in the world we are living in...

Back on board after my wild weekend ... now ... where was I ...

Just done a quick google to find out who Caritas is: a bit like MSF and UNHCR and Red Cross all rolled into one. Goodo ...

Where exactly is the City of Sydney library? This was the one that used to be in the QVB prior to renovation, yes? The Waterloo branch is on the block in which I live but where is the main library? This is the library that first introduced me to the writings of George Johnston & Charmiane Clift. Used to sit on the floor for ages just reading their stories. I guess that was late 602 early 70s. Yikes ...

Julie - yes, it used to be in the pre-renovation QVB, then the City Council Building behind the Cathedral and at one stage it was in a building in Pitt St near Town Hall. Its finally found a real home in Customs House. I love it, especially the ground floor/foyer area with the city model in the floor and all the comfy louges. Well worth a look - and free.

Did you write anything?

Julie, and ANn - I think there is also a branch of the library in George St on the corner of Hay (which I call Tram St)

Is that still there. I used to like that one. Small but good. Used to use it when I worked at Haymarket.

So interesting post. A good idea to share our messages to the world! Our photoblogs are doing so. We actually share our cities, the way we look and our ideas to each other. How would be nice if our photos have some kind of message, it actually has but sometimes hard to realize. Thank you.
