Contradicting the principles - Select one subject and using a shallow depth of field vary the point of focus on that subject and take a number of pictures at these various settings. (F1.8, 1/1600, 50 mm, ISO 200)
I like the three curved plates, but would prefer the central plant to lift off the background more. Not sure how, the shallow DoF probably means you were shooting wide open already.

Yeah, shooting very wide open. The lines of the plates are just great as is the DoF. However, the foliage is lost in the conversion to mono. Were the plates that manufactured rust? I am figuring that the hanging plant was flannel-flower-grey. This series is a good exercise for me to follow. Taa ...
