Railway Square YHA

Some time ago I showed you Sydney Harbour YHA. This time I poked my head inside the equally interesting (although not quite so well located) Railway Square YHA. This one is in the converted parcel shed at Central Station and uses old railway carriages for some of the rooms.

Railway carriages as rooms are a fantastic idea! It's such a great way to reflect the building and the area.

Great choice for a blog, always wondered about the YHA there.

Is this the one on the corner of Eddy and Pitt or the one up the concourse at the side of Railway Square, just near the Mercure?

I love the reuse of the carriages. I would stay there just to experience that. How expensive do you think a room is there say compared with down on the harbour.

It is a worry that there does not appear to be many clients hanging around!!

Julie, its on Railway Square. Can't remember how much a private room is but its usually about $80 or $90. The Sydney Harbour YHA is a lot more expensive - something like $129 for a double and $140 (poss 50) ish I think for a room with a view but its still a lot cheaper than the hotels in the area and its such a fabulous location. Re the lack of people, it was the middle of the day, they should have all been out and about doing stuff. There were a few people in the eating area.
