Chinese New Year Parade - Year of the Dragon

I didn't think I'd be able to see anything along the main parade route so decided to photography the marshalling area and then see if I could find a spot to watch the parade. I couldn't get anywhere on the main drag - it was packed - but managed to squeeze in on the last block of the marshalling area, just before they turned onto the parade route. It was great spot as most groups were already marching by the time they reached me. They also slowed as they approached the turn.

The Master Chef dragon.

Bringing up the rear.

I did not realise there were quite this many dragons!

I think you are right about the marshalling area. That way you have all your shots early and dont have to wait until 9pm!!!!

The photos and the colours are beautiful. I think my favourite is the second one down - the exposure is perfect and shows off all that satin - nicely contrasted with the buildings and the trees. Lovely.

So many great dragons. I saw the one with the recycled kitchen implements on its way there, coming off Southern Cross Drive.

Fabulous captures Ann. Looks like it would have been a great sight to see. Also like your monochrome post from Sunday.
