Taphophile Tragics

The grave of Rev and Mrs MacDonald. Mrs MacDonald is better known as Lucy Maud Montgomery, author of the beloved Anne of Green Gables series of children's books. A visit to Prince Edward Island in Canada is a thoroughly enjoyable pilgrimage for lovers of her books.

The house looks like out of a postcard, and a well kept grave.

Interesting grave and a nice shot of the green gabled house. I enjoyed that story as a kid.

Just look at that bed of flowers on their grave! Most unusual, but very nice.

A beautifully maintained grave - delightful with the two pillars of pines and lovely mass of white flowers! Very picturesque! And the house looks like a fairytale house!

Those flowers look like Alyssum (Sweet Alice). They certainly add a folksy feel to the grave.

I have to admit to having never read anything by LM Montgomery. I know a bit about her, and about the GG books but somehow was never hooked. And I was a voracious reader as a child.

I am given to understand that PEI is a gardener's paradise. I wonder if the ocean currents take the normal chill off the climate that one should suspect that far 'up'?

Good to see you are able to give your archives such a good run with this meme. Keep it up!

That charming grave with all the flowers speaks volumes about how well-loved Lucy Maud Montgomery was and still is. For some reason (perhaps beause I grew up in Europe) I too missed reading Anne of Green Gables. Pretty place and photos, Ann.
