Very poignant photos with a lot of human feeling...

I was reading in National Geographic about your terrible drought. I had no idea. We get so little world news, it makes me angry sometimes.

Sure hope you get inundated with rain soon!

It's great that they have a Museum of Migration in Adelaide. We need something like that in Sydney. I don't think there is anything like that apart from some exhibits at the Powerhouse Museum.

Jacob - I was surprised at how little overseas news you got in the States. We've had a lot of rain lately - to the extent of flooding, but whether its in the right places to really break the drought is another thing altogether.

Jim - its an excellent museum and well worth a look if you are down that way. The only thing I remember in Sydney is a small exhibition at the Powerhouse as well.

There was a medium sized exhibition a few years back in the Maritime Museum. It had souvenirs from individual migrants and told their story from that. Very engrossing exhibit.

Which reminds me: go to the Shooting Through exhibit at the Museum of Sydney. I was in tears last night. I am hoping to take Dad on Saturday if he can cope.

I think we get more news now from our peers blogging. This was news to me too. Very poignant images.
