This past week, on the way to and from work, I walked through the Occupy Sydney protest in Martin Place, set up between the Reserve Bank and Westpac Bank. Here is a series of shots taken during the week. I had no problems with them being there - they were peaceful, friendly, made an effort to keep their area clean and tidy and were causing no harm. They initially pitched tents but the police removed these as it was against council regulations. From what I could see the police presence was visible but pretty relaxed. As the week progressed the group became better organised with a roster board and discussion groups. Police removed the protesters last night with varying reports of the force used to do so.

These may become historical photos.
Ann, great to see a Sydney blogger cover this event. This is better coverage of the from the protestors perspective than anything in the mainstream media. Lots of detail like the white board, fantastic shot of the musicians in dinner suits.
It all looks very peaceful and legal to me. I look at the faces of the protestors and wonder who was assaulted yesterday.
So typical of the authorities acting at dawn on a Sunday!!!!
Great collection of shots.
It will be interesting to see if this will change anything. Nice series of photos.
Amazing photographs. Things just have to change for the people.
Great post...
Thanks to share !
Hope to change world...
Greetings from France,
