Sydney Heritage (7)
This is the shopping arcade in the Queen Victoria Building. I think its the most beautiful in Sydney. The building, which I will show you another day, has a chequered history being at various times used as an office block (with false floors between the levels) and a library. At one time it was even slated for demolition but was saved by public outcry. There were various proposals for its use including as a hotel or a casino. I am extremely glad that it was fully restored to its original glory and in a form that can be enjoyed by everyone.

I'm not a shopping mall fan, but that one looks really nice! The building makes it all.

What a lovely building!
Good shot, Ann. I guess there is a lot of natural light in there. I agree with you - the most glorious shopping centre in Sydney. Shame the prices are out of my reach!
It looks beautiful indeed.
Demolition?!--Oi vey!
I remember it being a classy mall, fun for window-shopping.
