This one has been quite controversial as it is anatomically correct and the local council made the artist put a swimsuit on his sculpture. After initially complying, the artist returned and removed the offending article of clothing and the sculpture can now be seen as it was intended. It certainly caught the attention of the little chap below.

I can understand why this is controversial... ;-(
I am offended that it is controversial. How narrow-miinded of people on council who are really only concerned about their own re-election!!
Good series of shots, Ann.
I went home after just a couple of hours at the Newtown Festival mainly because of the density of the crowd. I could not get enough good shots without people walking in front of me - which they are perfectly entitled to do!! But me being a short-arse ... the crowd shot on today's blog was taken by my 6'1" son!
I go to Festival First night too. I want to see the Black Arm Band who are the lead in to Al Green (is that his first name?). I will look up the group you are interested in. You are more multi-cultural than moi.
I just had to visit after seeing the thumbnail in the portal. It's amazingly life-like! I'm glad you posted one with the real child for scale.
It's amazing how prudish and loud people can get about things like this, yet not raise a single hair of an eyebrow about poverty, war, human rights abuses…
I wonder how my small grandsons reacted to this little big boy ...
What an expression the artist has captured! Sorry to hear about your local council's foolishness. Perhaps they find all of the artwork alarming.

It looks realistic, but I don`t really like it.
But most art is meant to be controversial...
I do like the photo with the little person looking at it!
i agree, most art is to be controversial. the work is very well done, but the boy has a sad face, i don´t really like it.
Great shots Ann. The look on the little blokes face is priceless.
