WYD (5)

Pilgrims beflagged, bedaypacked and dressed in all the colours of the rainbow, volunteers in purple and blue or red and yellow, and the sign on a workmate's desk. It was surprisingly quiet in my part of town yesterday. The workers seem to have disappeared, leaving the place to the pilgrims. This is terrific for the WYD merchandising tent which is going great guns but not so good for the small businesses such as coffee shops who are missing many of their regular customers and not seeing any trade from the pilgrims. Going to be interesting to see how the road blocks affect us.

You have taken some good images about this event, Ann.You could try out Picasa (from Google) and teach yourself how to make a collage. You would probably enjoy that. I tend to do my own ...

Thanks Julie, being in the heart of things I thought I would try and document as much as possible. Will look at Picasa, was wondering how the collages were done.

I am amazed at how big this World Youth Day is. I’d never heard of it before, but it seems to have taken over all of the news programs!

Yes, in response to your question, the program I use is, as julie says Picasa.

Cool photos!

I'm noticing that the weather there seems pretty mild even though it's dead of winter in Sydney. Nobody is wrapped up in coats, scarves, gloves, etc. :-)
