Makes you Think

Last week, Medicins Sans Frontieres' "Refugee Camp in You City" was in Martin Place. The recreation of a refugee camp aimed to introduce people to the work of MSF and to give an idea of how refugees live, with examples of tents, toilets, health care and the rations they receive.

Except the refugee camps on the o'clock news are always surrounde

d by filth and squalor! Here it moret looks like a summer camping holiday which stands the chance of being counterproductive.

I think most people would realise it is only a symbol and it does jog our conscience. MSF do wonderful work.

Thanks for your good reporting.
It is a thorny issue. We could use some public re-creations like this one here in Israel where the government can't seem to decide what to do about the many Sudanese refugees walking in across the Egyptian border.
